Growing up I used to watch the old Tarzan movies with Cheeta the chimp. I like the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan the best. I haven't seen one of those movies for a long time. I wonder if they are still fun to watch for youngsters?
Anyway, I knew that Cheeta had retired here to Palm Springs. He gets to live his days out in his birthday suit just like all our guests. I guess all intelligent creatures want to live here.
Well I just learned he turned 75 on April 9th. That is amazing as the average life span of a chimpanzee is 50. Cheeta is the oldest chimp in the world.
Mayor Oden of Palm Springs even declard April 9th as Cheeta day.
So happy birthday Cheeta and I wish you many more.
