From http://peta.org "PETA’s State of the Union Undress PETA has always believed that when you have something important to say, you have to persevere until your message is heard. If that doesn’t work, hey, try taking off all your clothes. And just in time for this year’s State of the Union Address, that’s exactly what one brave PETA member did."
In this video talking about animal cruelty and animal rights, this PETA member starts wearing a business suit and ends up wearing her birthday suit.
Now FOX-TV was promoting this interview like crazy for the Bill O'Reilly Factor show. The ad showed the PETA spokeswoman topless with little PETA stars covering her nipples. You can see the whole uncensored video at the PETA site. I guess FOX thought that the sight of a topless woman on a video, even if she was a PETA spokeswoman would help bring in viewers.
I thought for sure Bill O'Reilly was really going to lay into PETA, as they showed full frontal nudity of the spokeswoman and FOX TV is extremely conservative. On the video, the spokeswoman is completely nude just as if she was nude sunbathing at our resort.
And shocks of shocks, Bill did not lay into them. He wasn't particularly friendly, but he cetainly was not too negative or nasty. He even ended up saying:
"O'REILLY: All right. All right, Lisa, you know, I — you know, it's America. And we appreciate you coming on. People make up their own minds as always. Thanks very much."
The O'Reilly Factor show was a little step forward in American maturity in accepting nudity. Here PETA's using nudity to protest animal inhumanity was not condemned.
