View the Photos banned by Facebook - Yet CBS TV Palm Springs Boldly shows them on the 6pm News as the Feture story of the Day

Facebook lists their community standards here: Click this to see Facebook Community Standards

They say, "Facebook gives people around the world the power to publish their own stories, see the world through the eyes of many other people, and connect and share wherever they go. The conversation that happens on Facebook – and the opinions expressed here – mirror the diversity of the people using Facebook." This may be true except for nudists. From The Naturist Society, All Nudist, Nudiarist, NUSA Sun, Australian Naturist News, The Nudism and Naturism Daily News, Young Naturists of America, Terra Cotta Inn, British Naturism, and many more Facebook has relentlessly censored, deleted, and harassed all our accounts all the while as we are complying with their terms of service and community standards.

Worse, Facebook refuses to give nudists and naturists a contact so that nudist groups can work with them when we have problems. And we have been asking for a Facebook contact for years.

For instance using my personal profile, Tom Mulhall as an example, I have been banned from posting for 66 days this year for posting or linking to "obscene" or "pornographic" stories or photos.

I have probably messaged Facebook this year maybe 15 times and only ONCE received a canned answer saying my message is important, but they don't respond to messages. And I've been a paid advertiser in the past.

Now the local community in Palm Springs, California has been big supporters of us (true community standards) and the media in Palm Springs does not understand why Facebook is censoring us. Our local CBS TV station was out here last week. Initially, they were going to be doing a 90 second story about Facebook censoring Terra Cotta Inn. But, once they got here they learned this has been going on for years by Facebook and expanded their story to 3 minutes and made it the feature news story of the day on Tuesday March 25th. Here is the CBS TV news story and news video: http://www.kesq.com/news/obscene-photos-ban-nudist-resort-from-facebook/25152678

Our local newspaper, The Desert Sun which is owned by the Gannett Corporation also wrote a story about Facebook censoring us. Here's the link: http://www.desertsun.com/story/sidebar/2014/03/26/terra-cotta-inn-nudist-resort-censored-by-facebook/6901281/

Thank you very much Palm Springs for being such big supporters. We greatly appreciate it!

Many people in America know the press is no longer truly free. There is so much self censorship by the media as they are afraid of reporting the truth and getting their advertisers mad at them. So I greatly appreciate CBS TV Palm Springs and the Desert Sun for telling the truth about Facebook censorship. I only wish other news outlets would cover this important story about Facebook censorship.

You see the photos that were censored and banned by facebook, but they also banned links to articles saying the original articles we posted to were obscene or pornographic. This includes links to MSN which is owned by Bill Gates and The Guardian, one of the most respected newspapers in the world where they wrote an article about how people over the age of 50 are feeling comfortable in their bare bodies. It was a good article presenting survey results, interviews, etc. The most "obscene" photos shown were bare shoulders and faces. Here is the link to the article: http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/fashion-blog/2013/nov/27/naked-truth-nudity-among-over-50s

Finally, at our highly awarded and respected resort, Terra Cotta Inn, we have been pampering guests from around the world for 19 years. Featured and recommended in USA Today, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, ABC, NBC, and CBS, Huffington Post and much more, we are one of th emost popular of ALL reosrts in the whole Palm Springs, area.

Our local Palm Springs newspaper, The Desert Sun in November, 2013 gave us a "Best of the Valley" award for being the best boutique hotel in the whole Palm Springs area. I am even a past President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce. Terra Cotta Inn is a very nice nude sunbathing resort that AOL Travel has recommended as perfect for couples trying topless and nude sunbathing for the first time.

Check out our Facebook page here: http://bit.ly/TerraCottaInnFBPage

The whole point of my informing the public and press about our Facebook censorship problems is people are always looking for more information about new vacation ideas and topless and nude sunbathing is on so many travelers bucket lists and in their vacation dreams. Facebook is the perfect social media site for folks to learn more about nude recreation. So I am asking Facebook Please, please stop censoring our photos, sites, pages, and profiles. And Please, please, give us a contact at Facebook so that we can work with you and not be forced to go to the outside media to get your attention.

Feel free reblogging this post or using information from our blog to write a blog post or article about Facebook censorship. You are more than welcome to call me at 1-800-786-6938 for more information about this issue (or booking a vacation at our great resort). We answer the phones from 8am-10pm PST.

View The "Obscene" Photos and Linkes Facebook Banned Terra Cotta Inn Nudist Resort from Posting

A Roper survey uncovered that 40 million American adults have gone skinny dipping in mixed company or roughly 1 out of every 4 people. Forbes Magazine has reported that nude vacations are one of the fastest growing trends in the travel industry. People are always looking for more information as topless and nude sunbathing is on so many travelers bucket lists and in their vacation dreams.

Facebook promotes their company saying "Whatever you're into, there's a group for you." "Facebook would seem to be the perfect social media site for folks to learn more about nude recreation. But, it's not true as far as nudist and naturist groups are concerned," says Tom Mulhall owner of The popular Terra Cotta Inn Clothing Optional Resort and Spa in sunny Palm Springs, California http://sunnyfun.com

Recently, groups such as The Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs, California; NUSA Sun; Young Naturists and Nudists of America; The Nudism and Naturism Daily News; All Nudist; Australian Naturist News; the famous photographer Spencer Tunick, and many, many more Facebook pages have been censored, banned, or deleted.

Terra Cotta Inn has been pampering guests from around the world for 19 years. Featured and recommended in USA Today, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, ABC, NBC, and CBS, Huffington Post and much more, they are very well respected.

The local Palm Springs newspaper, The Desert Sun in November, 2013 gave them a "Best of the Valley" award for being the best boutique hotel in the whole Palm Springs area. Tom Mulhall, the owner with his wife Mary Clare is even a past President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce. Terra Cotta Inn is a very nice nude sunbathing resort that AOL Travel has recommended as perfect for couples trying topless and nude sunbathing for the first time.

Yet, Facebook has banned Tom and Terra Cotta Inn's Facebook page, http://bit.ly/TerraCottaInnFBPage numerous times for linking to or posting "obscene" or "pornographic" stories or photos.

Now, you too can view these banned links and photos and judge for yourself.

For instance, The Guardian, one of the most respected newspapers in the world wrote an article about how people over the age of 50 are feeling comfortable in their bare bodies. It was a good article presenting survey results, interviews, etc. The most "obscene" photos shown were bare shoulders and faces. Yet, Terra Cotta Inn received a ban for sharing a link to this story.

"We supposedly posted a 'pornographic' photo of my bare shoulders on The Terra Cotta Inn Facebook page and received a 'time out' from posting for uploading it. If I wore a sundress to church, I would be showing more bare skin than was in that photo. And I would be appropriately dressed," says Mary Clare.

"I believe Facebook is trying to make an example of us because we are the most popular Facebook nudist page," says Tom.

The latest photo that currently has Tom Mulhall banned from posting for 30 days is a photo of their manager holding cards. Tom explains, "Again, this photo would be acceptable anywhere else in America, but apparently not on this social site.

"It appears to me that Facebook is trying to protect everyone from not only nudist resorts, but also breast feeding pages, breast cancer sites, artists and art museums, even funny cartoons in the New Yorker even though these are 100% legal activities and Facebook pages can be set to 18+.

"And there is no one in customer service I can contact, to help me when Facebook censors our photos and stories. Most messages I send go unanswered.

"Even the New Yorker faced the same communication problem when they had a funny cartoon banned. They had to publish a funny story about Facebook censorship to get unbanned.

"It's very frustrating to us being a small business and Facebook advertiser when we are banned and are unclear as to the reason.

"Facebook pages such as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit page show more bare skin than we do, yet I feel we're censored because we're nudists and they're not. Obviously if bare shoulders and more are fine on the Sports Illustrated page, then how do our more conservative photos violate Facebook community standards?"

View the Nudist Resort Photos and Links Facebook Banned from their Site

A Roper survey uncovered that 40 million American adults have gone skinny dipping in mixed company or roughly 1 out of every 4 adults. Forbes Magazine has reported that nude vacations are one of the fastest growing trends in the travel industry. People are always looking for more information as topless and nude sunbathing is on so many travelers bucket lists and in their vacation dreams. But, don't try go to Facebook to try to learn more about nude recreation.

Facebook promotes their company saying "Whatever you're into, there's a group for you." True, but what they don't say is "the groups we love to censor for no reason are nudist and nude recreation pages and skinny dippers."

Facebook has their infamous Terms of Service, or TOS and community standards that they heavy handedly wield to keep naturists in line.

Yes, there's a new nanny in America. Move over federal government. Facebook has now decided it's their job to protect everyone from nudist resorts, breast feeding pages, breast cancer sites, and artists and art museums even though these are 100% legal activities.

For instance, in sunny Palm Springs, California, the popular Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa has been pampering guests from around the world for 19 years. They have been featured and recommended in USA Today, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, ABC, NBC, and CBS and much more media.

Yet, Facebook has banned Tom and Terra Cotta Inn's Facebook page, http://bit.ly/TerraCottaInnFBPage numerous times for the "crime" of linking to or posting "obscene" or "pornographic" stories or photos.

Now, you too can view these banned links and photos. For instance, does Bill Gates know his site, MSN posts "hateful, threatening, or obscene" stories? Facebook thinks so. Terra Cotta Inn linked to a MSN story http://now.msn.com/now/0515-nudist-vacation-expo-aspx It got their account banned.

That story was posted on Terra Cotta's Facebook page 21 months ago. Then all of a sudden, Facebook deemed it obscene and arbitrarily deleted Terra Cotta's account. Now the funny thing is the link was not even active. Terra Cotta's site was down for 3 days as they appealed. Luckily they got their site back.

Terra Cotta Inn supposedly posted a "pornographic" photo of Mary Clare's bare shoulders and received a "time out" for posting it. Yes, bare shoulders, that women show in bathing suits and sun dresses around the world earned them a time out. Facebook obviously felt they had to make an example of Terra Cotta Inn because they are so popular and it would scare other nudist sites.

The latest photo that currently has Tom Mulhall banned from posting for 30 days is a photo of the young women holding cards. Again this photo is acceptable anywhere in America, but facebook says it's "obscene or pornographic." And Terra Cotta's page is even set to 18+.

Tom Mulhall, talks about his frustration with Facebook. "My personal profile, and business page are constantly being harassed, banned, or deleted by Facebook censors. I would bet from January 1st of this year, I have had 10 photos, and 3 links to mainstream websites censored. This year, I believe I have received a total of 66 days "time out" banning from posting. That really hurts our small business and is un-American.

But Facebook doesn't seem to care what they do to small businesses. There is no way I can appeal many of their bans. Most of the time, when I send a message asking for my account to be reviewed, my messages are ignored. On rare occasions, I get a canned response saying, 'we can't respond to your e-mails individually...If you are having problems with your account, please refer back to our help page.' Obviously, they can't be bothered to have Facebook employees help users.

Facebook has Grievance Officers, but does not tell you how to reach them.

Facebook pages such as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit page show way more bare skin than we do, yet we're censored because we're nudists. Obviously if the photos are fine on the Sports Illustrated, then our more conservative photos really don't violate community standards. Why are we discriminated against?

I am forced to send out a press release in hopes that someone, anyone at Facebook, reads this release, un-bans us, and gives us the name of someone to contact in the future when we have problems again. It seems to me, it would be much easier having a customer service department when problems like ours arise, instead of forcing us to go to the press."

Nudists join a long history of people that facebook likes to censor such as breast cancer sites, breast feeding sites, artists and more. If Facebook still wants to censor everyone, at least they should have the courtesy to allow people and sites to be able to communicate with them so that they can try to stay in their good graces.

The Guardian - Tell Facebook you don't write Obscene articles

Facebook censorship is alive and well and working overtime. We need your help. Saturday, Facebook deleted our business page because we linked to a story published by the Guardian.

There has already been a big outpouring of support from the nudist community for our getting our Facebook page back. But, we need the press to side with us and write a story. I've already tweeted The Guardian on Saturday since it was their story that helped get our account deleted because Facebook deeming it obscene. I need The Guardian to write about what has happened.

THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP US:
The Guardians twitter account is here: https://twitter.com/guardian Tweet The Guardian and tell them to please write a story about Facebook censorship and that their articles are not obscene. You can tweet something like this, just copy and paste it:

@guardian #facebookcensorship You need to tell Facebook you do not write obscene articles http://www.terracottainnblog.com/2014/02/the-guardian-tell-facebook-you-dont_16.html

As The Guardian reported, Facebook outsources their censorship to Morocco. A country that is 99% Muslim. They determine what is appropriate community standards in the western world. Arabic is the official language and French is commonly the 2nd language. This is so silly, it would be like the Playboy Corporation being outsourced by the Saudi Arabian government to determine their appropriate community standards.
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2012/feb/21/facebook-nudity-violence-censorship-guidelines

This probably explains why violent posts are completely acceptable to Facebook, but don't dare show a woman's bare shoulders or more as it can get your account deleted.

Think I'm kidding? Look at the photo of Mary Clare that Facebook warned me about. They called it pornographic and deleted it. And shortly there after posting it, they deleted my account. We've had 3 or 4 accounts permanently deleted in the past as Facebook constantly warns us about posting links to "obscene" stories from the mainstream press. As you can see there is NO cleavage, bare breasts, or nipples showing in this photo, just bare shoulders. Mary Clare could have been wearing a sundress in that photo. But, in the mixed up, crazy Facebook censorship world, those bare shoulders are evil. Whereas, if Mary Clare was naked shooting people, it would be OK.

What is our latest Facebook affront? The Guardian newspaper is one of the most respected newspapers in the world. They are against internet censorship. They are so serious about freedom of speech and the press that their website has a special section covering internet censorship: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/internet+world/censorship

Our page got deleted yesterday. This was the link to our Facebook page: http://bit.ly/TerraCottaInnFBPage

We committed 2 Facebook crimes, one after the other. The first offense was I shared a story written by The Guardian. I was told by Facebook that it was obscene and they deleted it Friday. Here's the link to the "obscene" story: http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/fashion-blog/2013/nov/27/naked-truth-nudity-among-over-50s

If you look at the above screen shots I took, You will see Facebook deleted the link to The Guardians story because "it doesn't follow the Facebook Community Standards:" This of course means the story celebrated the human body instead of violence. In the e-mail I received from Facebook, they warned me that I violated the Facebook terms of Use for posting obscene material. Yes, Facebook called The Guardians story obscene! Plus thre is no way I can contact Facebook to appeal that decision.

Next, I had posted a link to a story from MSN, 21 MONTHS AGO on my facebook page. Suddenly on Saturday I got another message from Facebook saying my account was deleted because they deemed the MSN link that was 21 months old to now be obscene. The post had been up 21 months and now, overnight it magically needs to be deleted to protect the Facebook community from MSN's evil, obscene writing style. To make matters worse, the URL to the MSN story wasn't even live anymore, so no one could even read MSN's "obscene" story.

So please tweet The Guardian. We greatly appreciate all your support.

And bloggers and the press are more than welcome to reblog or post this story.

Thanks, Tom and Mary Clare

Facebook says MSN and The Guardian write obscene stories

Today I woke up like any other day. I took a shower, made coffee and sat down to check on what new form of censorship facebook was going to impose upon our Facebook page and me http://bit.ly/TerraCottaInnFBPage

To my amazement, facebook deleted our facebook page in the middle of the night. We had over 11,000 likes.

Why? Because of a link from MSN that I posted 21 months ago. That is correct, 21 months ago. The link was almost 2 years old. Facebook sent me an e-mail in the middle of the night saying that my post of the MSN link was obscene. That means Facebook is telling the world that they have to protect Facebook followers from MSN's obscene stories by deleting the link and me.

Does Bill Gates know MSN writes obscene stories? What is even more amazing is after 21 months, the MSN link is no longer active, so you couldn't even read the original obscen story even if you wanted too.

This came on top of yesterday my getting a warning and a deletion of a post and link from The Guardian. Again Facebook said that we violated community standards and posted obscene material. This is The Guardian link: http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/fashion-blog/2013/nov/27/naked-truth-nudity-among-over-50s

Apparently The Guardian writing about people sleeping naked in bed is extremely obscene. They wrote, "There was another thing that prompted this train of thought – a YouGov survey apparently shows that 21% of people aged 60 and over wear nothing in bed, compared with 6% of 18- to 24-year-olds." Further the Guardian dared to upset social mores by showing a picture of a man's bare shoulder getting a tattoo and a woman's bare shoulder.

In January, Facebook banned me from posting for 30 days for sharing a a nudist cartoon saying it was pornographic. I appealed 3 times and never heard back from facebook. Now a friend posted this SAME cartoon, had it deleted, appealed and facebook agreed with him that it was funny and not pornographic. What gives?

Facebook says we violate community standards. Who's community? MSN is one of the most popular websites on the internet. Obviously they thought the story they wrote was newsworthy and did not violate community standards. And The Guardian is one of the most respected newspapers in England.

Sometimes it feels like facebook is out to get nudists. Maybe we should all wear tin foil hats everytime we power up our computers to see if our accounts are still open?

I am in very good company. Here are examples of Facebook censorship:

Facebook says they don't allow the promoting of violence and hatred. Yet, they allow sites such as "I hate Israel" and "I hate America." these are still up. Facebook found itself recently having to explain why it had censored images of women breastfeeding yet allows beheadings to remain on its network.

Time and time again, Facebook has demonstrated startling double standards in what it chooses to remove and they block and ban first without contacting you. Back in Jan 2011, film critic Roger Ebert's Facebook page was disabled because of allegedly “abusive comments.” A number of Facebook users had flagged his page as “abusive” after he wrote a tweet critical of Ryan Dunn, an actor who died in a drunk driving accident. If it wasn't for the fact that Ebert was famous and wrote about this, he never would have gotten his FB page reinstated.

The New Yorker Magazine in Sept 2012 had their facebook page temporarily banned by what they called Nipplegate. An artist used two dots for nipples on a female cartoon character. This was enough for facebook censors to ban them. Of course when the New Yorker wrote about this banning, media around the world covered the story and Facebook was a laughing stock. They had to publicly apologize to the new Yorker. Here's the link to this story: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/cartoonists/2012/09/nipplegate-why-the-new-yorker-cartoon-department-is-about-to-be-banned-from-facebook.html

Do you remember when facebook had to publicly apologize for banning a photo of a dolls nipples? http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-20010205-71.html

Or how about in March 2013 when Facebook censored an art piece on the Facebook page of the Jeu de Paume, the famous Paris Art Museum. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57572905-71/facebooks-breast-police-censor-famous-art-museum/ As CNET wrote: "Some might find that describing Facebook's policy toward breasts as lunacy would be insulting to lunatics.
The company explains that it is merely a medium like any other and therefore follows certain standards.
Yet the amount of sheer hate which Facebook allows on its site -- the company defends it as "free speech" -- might boggle certain reasonable minds and certainly wouldn't grace The New York Times.
From Holocaust Denial groups to "I Hate Those Indian Muslims Who Love Pakistan," the company insists that it may personally find such groups repellent, but defends their right to express extreme views.
Yet a highly respected museum is unable to post precisely the sorts of images that highly respected museums house on a regular basis."

Finally you can see the "pornographic" picture of Mary Clare in front of a computer. This picture was deleted maybe 3 years ago and my account was deleted shortly there after. I am on maybe my 3rd or 4th facebook account. Why? More bare skin is shown on prime time TV than in this photo. Obviously this photo is NOT pornographic.

People say Facebook is a private company. If you don't like their weird, unevenly enforced censorship rules, just go somewhere else. And increasingly, people are abandoning Facebook in droves. But, Facebook is a monopoly. With over a billion members, Facebook is the place to go to when you want to make public comments.

Saying "if you don't like Facebook, don't use it" is like telling Rosa Parks, if you don't like sitting in the back of the bus, then walk or start your own bus company. Not realistic or practical.

Facebook is the place to be. They have a responsibility to free speech. What they allow and censor does matter as there is no alternative quite like them. They hold an important place in everyday society. They help shape the world around us. They have a duty to protect free speech, not censor what they don't like.

And promoting violence instead of human beauty is one of the worst affronts to society.

And in case you think our nudist resort Terra Cotta Inn is some sleazy operation. In November, 2013 we received a Best of the Valley award from our local newspaper, the Desert Sun for being the Best boutique hotel in the whole Palm Springs, CA area. This is on top of the Los Angeles Times newspaper writing a 2/3 page feature Sunday travel article about us in December 2012. We are a very wholesome business. I am even a past president of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.

My advice to Facebook is unless something is deemed to threaten life, contact the user before deleting. Give them 48 or 72 hours to respond. Give them a week to respond before deleting their account. And answer your customers. I have sent in countless appeals to facebook over the years and only ONCE did they respond to me.

Sadly, now I'm forced to have to show how facebook treats small businesses (and yes I have advertised with them). They should be ashamed of themselves for saying MSN and The Guardian violate community standards and write obscene stories.

Facebook, please give me my account back and stop using a magnifying glass and censoring my account all the time.

Come to the Fun Romantic Celebration At Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs, CA February 7 - 9th - The We Can't Wait for Valentines Day Celebration

Valentine's Day is coming up real soon on Friday, February 14th. Sadly, we've already turned away maybe 300 couples for Valentine's weekend as we're known as the only romantic nudist resort in the US and everyone wants to stay here.

We've been having fantastic weather this January and February should be more of the same. Where Florida has been freezing and rainy with temps in the 50's and 60's F, we have brilliant sunshine with temps in the low 80's F.

And Frommer's travel guide and magazine company just picked Palm Springs, California as one of the Top 14 vacation destinations that everyone should go to in the world in 2014. Palm Springs was one of only 3 American vacation destinations they recommended. Skinny Dippers are so lucky that the top nudist resort in the US catering to couples is also a top vacation destination.

And in our local newspaper, the Desert Sun, just this Saturday 2/1, the president of the Great Palm Springs Convention Authority said "Romance is a niche market that we are targeting." And Terra Cotta Inn is probably the most romantic resort in the whole Palm Springs area.

We have rooms available from now until Feb 13th. We're sold out on Feb 14, 15, and 16. We just have 3 rooms left on Monday February 17th. Being the ONLY nudist resort out west that caters to couples on vacation, we're popular 7 days a week, not just weekends like typical weekend getaways. So you can have fun here and meet other great guests no matter when you book.

Every year we have a special event the weekend before Valentine's for all those guests that waited too long to call us for a room. It's our annual “We can’t Wait for Valentine’s Day Fun, Romantic, Celebration.” Free roses, decadent desserts, special massage prices and more. Call us at 1-800-786-6938.

Imagine the vacation memories that you will cherish forever by trying nude sunbathing together. Getaway from the hustle and bustle of the work a day world and have some fun. Give each other the gift of romantic time together at Terra Cotta Inn. You deserve it.

Get a nice romantic couples massage of just get one massage for the special someone you love. Our spa menu is here: http://www.sunnyfun.com/spa.html Palm Springs Life Magazine gave us a Best of the Best award as the BEST small resort for massage in the whole Palm Springs area. It's cool that not only do nudists get to stay at the best, most fun resort, but they get the best massages too here at Terra Cotta Inn.

Not a nudist? No problem. First timers love The Terra Cotta Inn nude sunbathing resort and spa because as the Desert Sun newspaper in Palm Springs reports, we are the most mainstream nudist resort in America and perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. Desert Sun also gave us a Best of the Valley award in November, 2013 for being the best boutique hotel in teh whole Palm Springs area. And we're the best not because we're snobby (snobs stay elsewhere). We're the best because our guests have the most fun.

Women especially feel comfortable at Terra Cotta Inn as there is no pressure to immediately try nude sunbathing. Some women start with European style sunbathing first, also known as topless sunbathing. Then, as they acclimate to this new, fun experience, they discard the soggy bathing suit bottoms and relax like everyone else wearing just sunglasses, their birthday suit, and a smile.

So try us by giving for this fun pre-Valentine's event, or any day of the year.

Give us a call at 1-800-786-6938. Hope to see you soon in sunny Palm Springs!

Today is the 5th Anniversary of Work Naked Day (Everyday of the week for us) - How will you be dressed?

Today Saturday, February 1st is the 5th anniversary of Work Naked Day. How will you be dressed at work?

In one of the above photos you'll see our dog Buffy (named because she's in the Buff) and Mary Clare hard at work.

It was started by Lisa Kanarek (a very nice person, I have talked with her) at http://workingnaked.com She writes "Working Naked means different things to different people. To you it may mean working au naturel, while your neighbors and friends may follow the other meaning — working on your own without the support of the corporate workplace."

Lisa also writes, "Whether you’re going to work in your birthday suit on Working Naked Day, or plan to celebrate your home office freedom some other way, there are a few things you can do to get ready for the big day."

"The Top Ten Reasons to Celebrate Work Naked Day

By AANR Public Relations Committee

10) You don’t have to worry about getting pet fur off of clothing before going to work.

9) Casual Friday is every day of the week.

8 ) Your boss will never say to you again, “I want your ass in here by 9am sharp!”

7) IT guys won’t try to position themselves to look down your blouse.

6) Makes forgetting to turn your webcam off when you Skype more interesting.

5) No one will steal your office chair.

4) Birthday suits replace power suits.

3) Saves company money on air conditioning.

2) Will help book sales for Nudist on the Late Shift.

1) Working naked is just another day at the office for telecommuters, telemarketers, sole practitioners, workers at a nudist resort, retirees, or a stay-at-home moms doing chores around their place.

So happy work naked day everyone!

Facebook Censorship - Enough is enough if they don't want to invite competition

As some people know, I was given a 30 day posting suspension from facebook for posting the above nudist cartoon even though facebook TOS says that nude artwork is OK. This same cartoon is OK on pinterest, tumblr, twitter, google+, flickr and probably way more sites, just not facebook. So much for real world community standards.

Then I got another suspension for posting words and a link. Not a photo, but a THOUGHT. Now that is scary now that facebook is becoming the thought police. Above is what I posted.

This is actually the 2nd time I have received a facebook posting suspension for thoughts.

I wrote facebook on 3 different occasions asking them to please explain to me how I violated their TOS and community standards and did not get a response. Even the cable companies that historically are the bottom of the list in customer service will respond to their customers. And yes, we are facebooks customers, because without us, they would not get advertising revenue.

Social media sites have certain terms and conditions. As facebook writes, "Safety is Facebook's top priority." It's how they go about it that is the problem.

Good sites like google+, tumblr, and twitter pretty much believe in freedom of speech. And if they disagree with what you post, they actually have a real human you can deal with and work out the differences.

Then there is facebook, the thought police storm troopers. The Guardian Newspaper in England has already exposed how facebook outsources their censorship to Morocco, a Muslim country and pay their workers who obviously appear clueless as to what are Western Societies community standards $1.00/hr.

Facebook says they don't allow the promoting of violence and hatred. Yet, they allow sites such as "I hate Israel" and "I hate America." Facebook found itself recently having to explain why it had censored images of women breastfeeding yet allows beheadings to remain on its network.

Time and time again, Facebook has demonstrated startling double standards in what it chooses to remove and they block and ban first without contacting you. Back in Jan 2011, film critic Roger Eberts Facebook page was disabled because of allegedly “abusive comments.” A number of Facebook users had flagged his page as “abusive” after he wrote a tweet critical of Ryan Dunn, an actor who died in a drunk driving accident. If it wasn't for the fact that Ebert was famous and wrote about this, he never would have gotten his FB page reinstated.

Finally you will see the "pornographic" picture of Mary Clare in front of a computer. This picture was deleted maybe 3 years ago and my account was deleted shortly there after. I am on maybe my 3rd or 4th account. Why? Because I post non nude nudists and do not think that violence is better than the human body.

Now, clueless people have said that Facebook is a private company. If you don't like their weird censorship rules that are unevenly enforced, just go somewhere else. And increasingly, many people are abandoning Facebook in droves. But, Facebook is a monopoly. With over a billion members, Facebook is the place to go to when you want to make public comments.

Saying "if you don't like Facebook, don't use it" is like telling Rosa Parks, if you don't like sitting in the back of the bus, then walk or start your own bus company.

If Facebook wants to be taken seriously, they could easily solve this problem.

Unless something is deemed to threaten life or death, contact the user before deleting. Give them 48 or 72 hours to respond. Give them a week to respond before deleting their account. And answer your customers. They will get a lot more respect this way instead of being considered a necessary evil.

Palm Springs Modernism Week starts February 13th and runs to the 23rd - Come stay at the ONLY Historic mid-century modern Nudist Resort in the US, Terra Cotta Inn

Nudists, naturists, and those couples that want to try skinny dipping together for the first time are so lucky. Lonely Planet Travel Guide Company, Travel and Leisure Magazine, Frommer's, USA today Newspaper, the Los Angeles Times newspaper, and many more publications and guide books are all recommending everyone to take a vacation in sunny Palm Springs, California this year.

And as everyone knows, Palm Springs has the BEST year round nude sunbathing weather in America. For instance weather.com predicts Palm Springs will be in the low to mid 80's F and 100% sunny for the rest of January. When you compare that to Florida's 2 week prediction of 60's to low 70's F and rainy, you can see why everyone wants to stay here. Palm Springs averages only 3 inches of rain (7.5cm) a year, so you are almost always guaranteed sunny skies.

And best of all, our nudist resort, Terra Cotta Inn is also located in sunny Palm Springs, California. AOL Travel has recommended us as one of the 10 best nude sunbathing resorts in the world (the only one catering to couples in the US) and they also selected us as the best value nudist vacation resort in the US. And just this November, 2013, the Desert Sun newspaper gave us a "Best of the Valley" award for being the best boutique hotel in the whole Palm Springs area. This is on top of Palm Springs Life Magazine giving us a best of the best award for best massages (day spa), so nudists really get spoiled and have fun at Terra Cotta.

You no longer have to overpay for your next nude vacation if you stay at Terra Cotta Inn.

South Beach has Art Deco buildings. Chicago has it's magnificent skyline. San Francisco has their Painted Ladies. But, Palm Springs, California is famous for our mid-century modern architecture. And you get to stay at one of the most famous Mid-Century Modern designed hotels in the world, The Terra Cotta Inn.

There were many modernist architects in the 1950's and 1960's, but one of the most famous is Albert Frey. He designed only a few hotels in the Palm Springs area. His most famous is our resort. Albert Frey is considered the father of desert mid-century modernism.

Above is a photo of Mary Clare and Albert Frey in front of our hotel shortly after we bought it in 1994. Mr. Frey called us as he saw an article about our resort in our local newspaper, the Desert Sun and he immediately recognized it as the hotel he designed which was originally called The Monkey Tree.

The Monkey Tree was built for celebrities. That's why we have very large rooms (300-500 square ft.). We were built with very high walls to protect the privacy of the celebrities that stayed here. We have learned that guests such as Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Desi & Lucy, Spencer Tracy, Katheryn Hepburn, President Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and many others used to stay here. To this day, we still get some celebrities from time to time as we are the nicest nudist resort in Palm Springs.

What is cool is we chatted with Albert Frey for a few hours when he was here. He told us he came up with the slanted roof line design in Palm Springs to be in synergy with the slope of the San Jacinto mountains which are the spectacular mountains next to our town. Another thing he told us is he has always been a nudist at heart, (he's Swiss). When he was young, he used to go to Ile du Levant which is in the Mediterranean and was one of the very first organized nudist destinations in the world. Albert Frey was so proud that one of his hotels became a famous nudist resort.

Starting February 13th and running for the next 10 days, Palm Springs is celebrating Modernism Week. Click here for things to do: http://modernismweek.com

You too can stay at one of the most famous hotels in all Palm Springs. And since we are the most mainstream nude sunbathing resort in the US, we are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. Just give us a call. It's lots of fun and romantic.

Try something fun, unique and romantic. Come on out to The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa, Palm Springs most famous mid-century modern hotel.

Palm Springs International Film Festival runs January 3rd to January 13th, 2014 - It't the 25th Anniversary

Hooray for Hollywood! If you are looking for something fun to do this January, the Palm Springs Film festival and the Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort Palm Springs are the places to be.

We have the best nude sunbathing weather in the US. Temps in the upper 70's to low 80's F and 100% sunny.

What makes the Palm Springs film festival so unique is there is no special seating area for the movie stars. They are sitting with the audience. Every year we have guests tell us that they saw movie stars and some guests get to talk with them. Some of the celebrities being honored this year are, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper, Bono from U2 are just some of the stars in town this week. The Palm Springs International Film Festival is a desert warm-up for the Oscars.

You can stay at the Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa all day long, and go topless or nude sunbathing and see great movies in the evenings. What could be better?

Now is the perfect time for a fun, romantic, unique vacation experience.

Never been to a clothing optional resort before? No problem. It's time to try new, something fun, and different. We are the most mainstream nudist resort in the US and are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time!

As the Los Angeles Times Newspaper reported last December with a 2/3 page feature travel article, we are the common sense place to stay in Palm Springs!

Come to Terra Cotta Inn's FUN, FREE, Naked Las Vegas Style Casino night Party the weekend of January 3rd and 4th, 2014

Palm Springs, CA is predicted to be in the low 80's F the rest of this week. We currently have the BEST nude sunbathing weather in the whole US.

The Terra Cotta Inn will be having our 19th annual FREE, fun, naked casino night party on Saturday January 4th, 2014. It's the most fun you can have gambling with your clothes off!

We hire a professional casino night company with experienced dealers. We'll have a black jack table, roulette wheel, and craps table. The dealers even give free lessons to our guests.

The party is free for guests booked into our hotel, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa located in Palm Springs, California, the sunniest city in the US.

We have the party in our large event room. There will be a roaring fire, so you can be nice and toasty warm and nude at the party.

Since you can't gamble nude in Las Vegas, Nevada we bring Las Vegas to Palm Springs.

Everyone gets $10,000 of play money.

We have free snacks at the party and we will give away $850 in FREE prizes including real state of California lottery tickets. The grand prize is two free nights at the Terra Cotta Inn which you get to use while you're here. This means you have a 1 in 17 chance of winning the grand prize.

This is one of our best parties of the year. It's a blast! Everyone loves it.

Ann everyone knows Terra Cotta Inn throws the best parties. Skyscanner which is one of England's most popular travel sites picked the top 5 spots in the world for Nude Year's Eve parties last year. Naturally, Terra Cotta Inn was the ONLY nudist resort in the US that was honored.

Now is the perfect time for a fun, romantic, unique vacation experience.

Never been to a clothing optional resort before? No problem. We are the most mainstream nudist resort in the US and are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time!

Just last fall, AOL Travel, UK wrote "Discover our picks of the BEST Clothing Optional resorts around the world." They recommended Terra Cotta Inn as the ONLY nude sunbathing resort in the US catering to couples. Pretty cool. And then in April, AOL.com picked us as the best value nude sunbathing resort in the US. The Los Angeles Times newspaper recently called Terra Cotta Inn, the "Common Sense" place to stay in Palm Springs.

And of course we're the best not because of being snobby. We're the best because we have the best guests. They have so much fun and are so friendly and wonderful.

Terra Cotta Inn's Nude Year's Eve Party is the Most Fun - Get Away and Go to a Fun Party this Year

It's summer in palm Springs! Palm Springs, California's temperatures for the next 10 days are predicted to be upper 70'sF to low 80's F and 100% sunny. We will have the BEST weather in the whole United States for this time period.

Who wants to go to some boring, old New Year's Eve party where you have to wear clothes? Not you! You need something fun, exciting, and different for a change. How about a NUDE Year's Eve party at The Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs California's most popular nude sunbathing resort and spa.

Ever been to a clothing optional New Year's eve party before? Now's the time to go! And ours is the most fun. Last year we were picked for having one of the top 5 best Nude Year's Eve parties in the world by the popular British Travel site Skyskanner: http://www.skyscanner.net/news/nude-years-eve-5-places-see-new-year-nature-intended They wrote: "The climate is pleasant in the winter, making this an ideal destination for Nude Year. The Terra Cotta Inn is very popular with first-time naturists. They have barbecue and spa facilities as well as an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, all of which come into play in their notorious clothing-optional New Year's Eve celebration. You don't have to be a hotel guest to attend, or take all of your clothes off if you don't want to in this laid-back California scene."

Every year we always sell out. It's that much fun. It's the most fun you can have without your clothes on. We just have a few rooms left for the New Year's holiday period and a few spaces left just for the party if you are staying somewhere else in Palm Springs.

So yes, you can come just for the party or do what everyone else does and take a Nude Year's vacation here. If you have a home in Palm Springs or are staying at a time share, you can still go to our fun naked New Years eve party.

Above are some photos from previous parties.

The party is fantastic. We start by serving you a 5 course sit down dinner. Steak and lobster. All you can eat.

Come midnight, we have a decadent dessert buffet and ring in the New Year, or is that Nude Year?

As you can see in the above photos, the dress code is clothing optional. Some women dress elegantly in sheer tops, and dresses. Slinky would fit right in. Very sexy and chic. Other guests however, prefer to dress in suits. Birthday suits that is. Clothing is never required at our New Year's eve party.

Our party is held in our big event room, aka our very spacious living room, so you will be nice and toasty warm and don't have to worry about wearing clothes.

You'll love our party and our resort.

If you have always wanted to stay at a clothing optional resort, now is the perfect time. In April, 2012 AOL Travel picked us as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world and the only nudist resort on the west coast that was honored. Also the only one in the US that caters to couples. We were also picked as the best value nude sunbathing resort in the US. Unlike many other nudist resorts and regular hotels, we do not mislead guests by jacking up room rates so we can offer phony "free" parties.

We are the most mainstream clothing optional resort in the US. We are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. You do not have to be a card carrying nudist to stay here.
